Sustainability is an essential part of our strategy

Sikla UK & Ireland is committed to ecologically and socially responsible corporate management. Only in a world that comes as close as possible to the optimum of the circular economy, long-term growth and prosperity for us, and our children will be possible. We want to and can make our contribution to this. Sikla is aware of the social and environmental impacts of its business activities. We are committed to strengthening our contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and to the environment and society in general. Our employees are encouraged to act in accordance with our sustainability policy.

UN Global Compact Logo 2

Sikla UK is officially certified by the United Nations Global Compact. By signing the Global Compact, Sikla commits to contributing to sustainability. This means we support the ten principles concerning human rights, labour standards, environment and corruption prevention.

Our Goals

Climate Neutral

By 2030, Sikla intends to operate as a completely climate-neutral business to compensate for unavoidable emissions. For this reason, the entire Sikla fleet of vehicles will be entirely electric with most of the energy coming from renewable resources.

Our products are manufactured locally, avoiding long transport routes. Currently, 67 % of the products are manufactured in Germany and another 25 % in Europe.

ISO 14001 - Environmental Management

We are working to obtain the ISO14001 certification as soon as possible.

Ecovadis

Sikla’s sustainability management is assessed by Ecovadis, the largest platform for sustainability ratings. By the end of 2023, we aim to achieve the bronze medal for all Sikla branches. To become more sustainable, we plan to achieve the Ecovadis Silver Medal by the end of 2025 and Gold by the end of 2029.
